Around 25 homes in Berkeley Heights were without water for several hours Sunday.

Crews from New Jersey American Water were called in to fix a 6-inch water main break on Plainfield Avenue.

Plainfield Avenue between Mountain and Emerson were closed into the afternoon.

New Jersey American Water says that the water for those homes had to be turned off while they fixed the break.
