Gov. Jon Corzine is threatening a state takeover of Ridgefield unless Mayor Anthony Suarez resigns.
Corzine signed an executive order Monday freezing development deals in Ridgefield. The governor is also ordering a probe of the city?s finances.
Suarez was among three mayors and more than 40 officials arrested in the FBI?s sweeping corruption sting in New Jersey last month. The mayors of Hoboken and Secaucus have stepped down since their arrests.
