The Coram man accused of attempted sex trafficking and attempted kidnapping went before a judge in federal court in Central Islip Friday.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says it arrested 54-year-old Andrew Frey in his home Friday morning.
Neighbors in Coram say they saw police swarm Frey’s home on Vintage Street. "You don't see things like that. I mean they're out there in the world, but it just hits so close to home, literally three houses away,” says one resident.

Authorities say on two separate occasions, Frey took two female sex workers into his car by force to allegedly use them in the sex trade. They say after his arrest, they recovered a rope, zip ties and a manual on how to tie knots from his home.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the two women that Frey tried to kidnap jumped out of his moving car to get away from him. They say Frey continued to threaten the two victims after they escaped from him.

Authorities also say Frey has a history of violence against sex workers and he has multiple prior convictions, including criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of stolen property.
Officials say Frey is married with two children and is a manager at an aircraft components factory called Sage Manufacturing.
Frey pleaded not guilty to the four-count indictment against him.
In court, the judge issued a permanent order of detention for Frey.
Authorities think there may be more victims of Frey's and anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
