Police arrested Friday a Union City woman suspected of performing liposuction without a medical license.
Gloria Billafana, originally from Colombia, is accused of running an illegal liposuction clinic out of the garage at her sister's Englewood home.
Billafana admitted to giving injections without a license, police said. Investigators believe her clients came to her by word of mouth.
The suspected clinic was discovered when a garbage man found medical waste and notified police.
"What gave it away was the broken garbage bag," Englewood Deputy Police Chief Arthur O'Keefe said. "If it wasn't for that we would have known nothing."
