Community organizations and Borough President Eric Adams came together Sunday to hand out meals to emergency responders and health care workers who are working amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Adams says as many of them work long shifts, he wants to make sure they stay healthy. He partnered with the Shorefront Coalition and Pakistani American Youth Society to get food from Kensington restaurant Lahori Chili.
They handed out the food to staff at Maimonides Medical Center and the FDNY and NYPD. The group says it's a way to make an impact by not only feeding the workers, but helping a local business.
The group is hoping to offer food at other hospitals as the pandemic continues.
