Friends and family are mourning the loss of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of famed musicians Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.
Brown, a New Jersey native, died over the weekend in a Georgia hospice facility nearly six months after being found unresponsive in a bathtub.
Her father Bobby Brown released a statement through his family attorney Monday.
"Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory," he says.
Brown spent her early years living in Mendham with her parents. Her death comes three years after her mother's, in a similar manner. Whitney Houston was also found unresponsive in a bathtub in 2012.
Many in Newark, Houston's hometown, say their thoughts and prayers are with the Brown family.
The medical examiner in Georgia is performing an autopsy on Brown. He says he hopes to find out why Brown became unconscious in the first place.
