The Department of City Planning will host a workshop next week to address issues, concerns and questions ahead of a multibillion-dollar Metro-North project in the Bronx.

The project will build four new Metro-North stations in the eastern section of the Bronx. They are expected to be up and rolling in the next three to four years.

The city is saying commuters will save about an hour a day with the new stations. Though some Morris Park residents are happy and hoping the project eases congestion, others fear a new station will worsen the problem. There’s also concern for small businesses in the area during station construction.

Carol Samol, Bronx director for the Department of City Planning, says those concerns are exactly what the city is hoping to address next week.

“We'll take all that information back and in the spring come back to reflect back what we've heard and bring it all together,” says Samol.

Tuesday’s workshop is open to the public. It will be held 4-7 p.m. at 1300 Morris Park Ave.
