Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has jumped right into the thick of the 2024 presidential race.
Christie began his campaign Tuesday night in New Hampshire going up against former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis among other delegates.
“He likes the relevance,” said “American Governor” author Matt Katz. “He likes to be in the mix, in those conversations in the Oval office.”
Christie remains a long shot in the race for the Republican nomination. He acknowledged one of his reasons for running was because he thinks Trump doesn’t deserve a second run at being president.
“He said I’m out to kill Trump, to get rid of him, to knock him out,” added Katz.
Christie originally ran for president while still in his term as governor.
