A ceremony was held Friday morning to remember the lives lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

A single wreath was thrown into the Hudson River at 7:55 a.m., the exact time the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor 66 years ago. Two of New Jersey?s last surviving veterans of the attack were present at the ceremony.

Frank Wasniewski and Al Murdo were honored with medals and gratitude during the ceremony. Wasniewski fears that as he and other veterans grow older, less people will remember those lost at Pearl Harbor.

The ceremony has been held in Jersey City at Exchange Place for 36 years. Many veterans say it must continue in order to teach future generations. Veterans say the ceremony is the second largest observance of the bombing in the United States.
