Brooklyn Community Pride Center to open new HQ in Crown Heights

The Brooklyn Community Pride Center is one step closer to officially having a permanent home in Crown Heights.
As soon as this coming September, the Crown Height building will be the new home of the Brooklyn Community Pride Center.

The 30-year lease for their new permanent headquarters was signed at their Bed-Stuy office in Restoration Plaza Tuesday.
Former Borough President Marty Markowitz, former city council speaker Christine Quinn and current Borough President Eric Adams are among some of those who helped secure the funding.
It was also announced Tuesday that the the first dedicated LGBTQ mental health clinic will also be opening.
As for the new community center, it’ll be operating out of the basement level of the Bedford Union Armory and will offer a variety of services.
Now the 10,000 to 20,0000 LGBTQ residents in Brooklyn won’t have to leave the borough to receive the services they offer.

The new center is expected to open between this September and next January.
They say they want to open more centers in the future, with their sights on Coney Island.
