A Brooklyn man accusing JetBlue of discrimination now has the support of Borough President Eric Adams.
Shaun Lynda says he was taken off his flight home from Barbados Thanksgiving Night over seat rearrangements. JetBlue says it upgraded a family of four so they could sit together, Lynda questioned why.
"The father sat beside one son, the mother sat beside another son, directly across from each other. The reason why I asked the question because I couldn't understand what better seating arrangement could you give them?" says Lynda.
From there, stories diverge. In a statement, JetBlue said Lynda declined to pay for an upgraded seat assignment, and that he became angry and used inappropriate language with crew members.
But Lynda says that isn't true -- he claims to have been inexplicably returned to his original seat after a temporary upgrade, all while remaining calm.
Now, Lynda and Borough President Adams are demanding an investigation and full accountability.
"The borough president's office wants to sit down with JetBlue and speak with them about what happened here, because I believe it was inappropriate," says Adams.
Meanwhile, Lynda has hired an attorney and a lawsuit against the airline is likely to follow.
