A Bronx couple is thanking their daughter for helping to make their dream come true.

In 2019, Vanessa Mendez and her fiancé, Richard Santiago Jr. opened Jaida’s Sweet Stop, bringing an idea to life that began with their daughter’s wish.

"It started from something so small, from our daughter and got to be something really popular. It's really taking off. It's amazing,” says Mendez.

The Morris Park shop features a variety of other freshly baked goods like sour cream coffee cake.

"I like to put a twist on everything that I do. I take a classic recipe and then throw in my own little twist,” says Santiago.

Cakes, cookies, and brownies aren't the only things available. The shop also features snow cones, making it the perfect one stop to satisfy your sweet tooth. 
 
"The fruit baskets and the cheesecakes are my favorite things. They just taste really refreshing, and they're really good,” says Jaida.

The Bronx family says they hope Jaida’s Sweet Stop will continue to grow with every nibble.
