A bill advanced in the Assembly Appropriations Committee Thursday that would impose fines for people who don't wear masks in stores in New Jersey.
The bill now heads to the Assembly speaker for further consideration.
If approved, people who don’t wear masks in stores could face $50 to $500 in fines – if they enter or remain in a state store without a mask, and the store has signage indicating masks are required.
