County Executive Steve Bellone announced the death of nine more Suffolk residents during his daily COVID-19 briefing on Friday, bringing the total to 93.
He says it was “heartbreaking” to have to make announcements each day about the deaths of Suffolk residents.
There were 1,140 more positive COVID-19 tests in the county in the last day, bringing the total to 10,303. Bellone says there are 1,298 patients hospitalized, with 401 in ICU beds.

Bellone says supplies at Suffolk hospitals were “limited” and he is looking to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive order on the redistribution of supplies to the hardest hit areas.
In this time of crisis, Bellone says the business community has been stepping up to help out whenever it can. He pointed to Uber Eats, which is providing 2,000 meals to workers at Long Island Community Hospital.

- Total confirmed cases climb to 10,303. There are 401 patients in ICU beds, an increase of 87.
- There are 648 hospital beds available in Suffolk, 43 ICU beds. A total of 93 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Suffolk hospitals.
