Authorities say a suspect accused of stabbing an elderly woman in Burlington City has committed suicide.

Police went to the Travel Inn Motel Thursday night to question Kenneth Mackintosh about the death of Carla Nesmith.

As they approached him, police say he shot himself in the head.

Officers say the gun he used belonged to Nesmith.

There is no word on a motive.
