Authorities have identified the Spotswood EMT killed in a crash Saturday morning in East Brunswick while responding to a call.
Officials say Hinal Patel was riding in the passenger seat of the Spotswood EMS ambulance when it was involved in a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Cranbury Road and Ryders Lane at around 8:30 a.m.
The two other vehicles were a Subaru and a silver Toyota Prius.
Police say the ambulance was traveling west on Ryders Lane with its lights and sirens on when the Prius, heading southbound at the intersection, plowed into it.
The drivers of both the ambulance and the Prius were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
