Two people who were found dead during a welfare check Saturday at a residence in New Milford have been identified.

Bergen County prosecutors say Giovanni "John" Emmolo, 80, and Marina Perez, 56, were found dead with gunshot wounds.

Authorities say police were called to a house for a welfare check. They say officers found the bodies of a man and woman at the residence after 4 p.m.

Police are still investigating the incident.
