Authorities say a police pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Trenton ended when the vehicle crashed into a police cruiser and another car, leaving six officers hurt, including one critically injured.
The pursuit early Wednesday morning involved shots being fired at officers, but none of them were hit by the gunfire. The pursuit began after officers tried to stop the stolen vehicle, its driver sped off and at least one person inside the vehicle shot at a police cruiser.

Trenton police officials praised the officers for their heroic actions.
“There is no doubt that without the quick actions of my officers, that there would have been weapons on the street and at 2:16 a.m., what else could [the suspects] have been looking for other than trouble and to create mischief and harm to residents of this city,” says Trenton Police Director Sheilah Coley.
The men arrested were identified as 19-year-old Zaire Butler, who was critically injured in the crash, 18-year-old Nazere Crews, who is also hospitalized, and a 16-year-old boy.
