A severe accident between an ambulance and a pickup truck shut down roads in Manchester Township on Saturday.

An ambulance was overturned on the eastbound side of Route 37. A Chevy Colorado that sustained heavy front-end damage appeared to be the only other vehicle involved in the incident. The driver of that vehicle received medical treatment at the scene.

The accident occurred right in front of Manchester's municipal offices. Residents say the intersection is busy and that speeding is common there.

"It's such a quick turn and people want to shoot it to beat the light, especially making a left," says Sal Tozzi, of Manchester.

Residents say the intersection of Route 37 and Colonial Drive was closed at around 2:30 p.m. It reopened fully at around 7 p.m.
