Amazon is searching for 500 employees to staff a northern New Jersey fulfillment center that is set to open this fall.
The Home News Tribune reports the company has launched an intensive recruitment process to find workers for its 1-million-square-foot facility in Carteret.
Mayor Daniel Reiman says Amazon is a great addition to the community and the borough is working to help put local residents in the new positions.
Reiman says Amazon's state-of-the-art building is located on a redevelopment site that was built a few years ago on an old landfill.
Amazon also has fulfillment centers located in Robbinsville and Woodbridge.
