All archdiocesan cemeteries to reopen to visitors for Mother’s Day

The Archdiocese of Newark has updated its directives regarding its Catholic cemeteries, including opening for Mother’s Day.

All archdiocesan cemeteries will be open Sunday for visitation from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will be open for every following Sunday going forward.
Starting May 11, up to 10 family members will be permitted to attend a burial service, and beginning May 18, cemetery visitation will be allowed on Mondays through Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Memorial Day Masses at all archdiocesan cemeteries are postponed until further notice.
Anyone entering a cemetery or mausoleum must wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Signs will be posted in cemeteries.
