Aerial marketer takes off while economy suffers
Despite the effect of high fuel prices on the economy, one Wall Township ad company is thriving.
High Exposure, an aerial marketer, is busier than ever. From Cape May to Sandy Hook, 10 pilots fly all weekend long.
"It's a unique way to advertise - cheaper than radio, cheaper than TV and people like to watch it," says John Burker, manager of High Exposure.
The messages are assembled on location, with 5-foot letters. Pilots fly 500 feet over the ocean and 1000 feet over land. Each plane costs about $500 to fuel each day. While expenses have increased, so have profits.
Burker says the most popular message so far this summer has been a "Marry Me" addressed to a Point Pleasant bride to be.
