The American Civil Liberties Union wants answers on how police are using automatic license plate readers.
The ACLU argues that the license plate readers raise questions about privacy, and have concerns that the readers enable police to track drivers.
Police say they use the readers for surveillance and to catch criminals.
ACLU affiliates in 38 other states have filed similar requests with local police departments.
