(AP) - Five people aboard a 30-foot boat wererescued by the Coast Guard after it started taking on water nearthe southern New Jersey coast.
A crew member aboard the Drifter called the Coast Guard around2:45 p.m. Saturday, reporting that the troubled boat was about twomiles south of Cape May.
Two Coast Guard rescue boat crews soon responded to the scene,and one got a pump to the Drifter, whose crew members were able tocontrol the flooding. The second Coast Guard crew then towed theDrifter to Cape May Harbor.
No injuries were reported, authorities said.
