? A Kearny home was destroyed by a fire today, leaving nine people homeless, officials say.
Firefighters battled the four-alarm fire at the home on 187 Brighton Ave.
Three adults and a baby were inside when the flames broke out, but all managed to get out quickly. The Franco family, who lived in the home, lost their pet dog to the flames, officials say.
Fire crews from Newark, Harrison, North Arlington, Jersey City and North Hudson were all called in to fight the fire.
Members of the community are already pitching in to help out the Franco family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, authorities say.
