Cleanup efforts continued Friday after snow and rain slammed the borough Thursday evening.

Across Brooklyn, the autumn snow knocked down trees, caused major traffic jams and took out electric power.

News 12 is told there were about 300 reports of trees down just in Brooklyn alone, and more than 1,000 across the city.

Judy Thompson says several trees came crashing down on top of her car parked on Hart Street in Bed-Stuy.

"I was trying to park it and it kept sliding, so I took the easy way out and I came over here even though I saw the branches was hanging low," says Thompson. "I said, 'Oh, I'll be fine, I won't get too much snow on it,' but in all actuality, the whole tree fell on it."

 Firefighters removed the fallen branches from her car and luckily there was no damage.

 In Midwood, firefighters also found themselves cutting away the branches after part of a tree fell on a parked car at Avenue L and East 19th Street.
