An Englewood woman who just celebrated her 110th birthday became a viral sensation due to her strong personality and her "secret" to living a long, healthy life.
Agnes Fenton became known worldwide when she said her secret to living long was by drinking three Miller High Lifes and a shot of Johnnie Walker Blue Label whiskey every day.
However, she really credits her long life to God and her family.
"I wake up in the morning and say 'thank God, because he didn't have to let you wake up.' Remember that," she says.
Fenton was born in Mississippi in 1905. At the age of 14, she asked her mother if she could move to Memphis, Tennessee and look for a job.
Fenton became the first black woman to open a restaurant in Memphis and worked 12 hours a day as her business grew.
"I put my body, my soul and everything into my life," she says. "I can do anything today that I could do yesterday."
For her 111th birthday, Fenton says she would like to visit her sister in Mississippi.
The mayor of Englewood will be presenting her with a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue for her birthday.
