Police: South Brunswick crash involving car and motorcycle kills 1

Police emphasized the importance of not driving while distracted and said drivers need to be always aware of their surroundings.

One person was killed in a crash involving a car and motorcycle Tuesday morning on Route 1 in South Brunswick, according to police.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. near the old car wash and NM Window Tints. All lanes of Route 1 reopened after being closed for several hours.
Drone 12 was above the scene as the investigation continued. The cause of the crash has not been released as of Tuesday morning.
South Brunswick police emphasized the importance of not driving while distracted and said drivers need to be aware of their surroundings.
"There’s a lot more people on the road nowadays, and a lot of people are on their phones. A lot of these incidents could be avoided by people putting their phones down,” Sgt. Tim Hoover said.
