Officials say police fatally shot a man during a domestic dispute Sunday in Brick.

Investigators say Brick police were called to a home around 5:30 a.m. near Meridian Drive in Ocean County.

They say when officers arrived, they found a man outside the house armed with a handgun.

The shooting occurred a short time later, but further details have not been disclosed at this time.

Authorities say two women were also injured and are being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries. It is unclear how they were injured.

It also unknown if any of the victims lived at the home. 

Neighbors tell News 12 a man and his girlfriend, along with three kids between the ages of two and 11, and the woman's mother reside at the home in question. They say the family keeps to themselves.

No officers were injured in the confrontation.

The man's identity has not been released and it is unknown what sparked the domestic disturbance.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says it is investigating the shooting.
